The ceremony also saw partnership agreement signing between School of Business and Management (SBM) of ITB with PT. PGN about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program for renovation of Magister Business Administration (MBA)-ITB’s canteen. The canteen will also serve as a co-working space to support students’ learning process.

The MoU was signed by rector of ITB, Prof. Kadarsah Suryadi and President Director of PT. PGN, Gigih Prakoso. It was followed by signing of partnership agreement between School of Business and Management (SBM)-ITB represented by Dean of SBM Prof. Sudarso Kaderi Wiryono and Director for Human Resources and General Affairs of PT. Perusahaan Gas Nasional Tbk, Desima E. Siahaan.

In his remark, Gigih Prakoso said that the CSR is a fund prepared for improvement of human resources in Indonesia and ITB. He also said that PT. PGN has given scholarship to ITB students and last-year students’ intensive program to study or get an internship.

Cooperation will also be conducted in the field of research and education in the form of, for example, books about business cases as handbooks for SBM students. “We hope that the best students in ITB will join PT. PGN,” said Gigih Prakoso.

In his remark, Gigih Prakoso also mentioned several accomplishments PT. PGN has done in order to achieve gas independence together with the best human resources in Indonesia. The remark was concluded with a PT. PGN company profile presentation and design animation of MBA-ITB canteen.

Rector of ITB, Prof. Kadarsah Suryadi expressed sincere thanks for the trust that have been given by PT. PGN in choosing ITB as cooperation partner. He asserted about the importance of energy and the human resources aspect that process the energy.

“To stimulate economic growth, industry should grow first. Industrial growth will also stimulate energy growth. Countries which control energy will control geopolitics, and it will become a strong country. It begins with strong human resources. It is all interconnected.

The signing ceremony ended with memento exchange and photo session. Executives of ITB who attended the signing ceremony were Vice Rector of Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Bermawi Iskandar; Vice Rector of Research, Innovation, and Partnership, Prof. Bambang R. Trilaksono; and Dean of Faculty of Mathematic and Natural Sciences, Prof. Edy Tri Baskoro.
