Where Science Meets Art

What if the unseen could become a work of art?

Inspired by the philosophy of Sekala Niskala—the visible and the invisible, the tangible and the unseen—the exhibition invites us to look beyond the surface and enter worlds too small for the naked eye.

Here, the microscopic becomes a landscape. Cells unfold like constellations. Textures become unfamiliar terrains. Patterns emerge from forms once observed only as scientific data.

Captured through diverse imaging techniques, from light microscopy to electron microscopy, these micrographs begin as records of observation and are transformed into visual expressions. Between the precision of science and the freedom of art, they invite new ways of seeing, feeling, and imagining the living world.

As part of iSEA Conference 2026, Micrograph Extended Exhibition brings science and art into conversation through a collaboration between Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain (FSRD) Institut Teknologi Bandung, Lokus Foundation, and Scientific Imaging Center (SIC).
