ITB Rector Meets with Head of Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM RI)

Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., welcomed the Head of the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM RI), Dr. Taruna Ikrar, during a courtesy visit to ITB Ganesha Campus on Thursday (April 17, 2025). The visit included a tour of key facilities within ITB’s School of Pharmacy, such as the Drug Delivery System Research Institute ITB–Daewoong Foundation, the Educational Pharmacy, and the Herbal Corner. This meeting marked a step forward in strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions and regulatory bodies in building a sustainable national pharmaceutical research and innovation ecosystem. Prior to the site visits, Dr. Taruna Ikrar delivered a public lecture at Aula Barat, ITB Ganesha Campus, titled “Self-Reliance in the Local Pharmaceutical Industry: Challenges, Opportunities, and the Regulator's Role in Promoting Biosimilar Products.”
