The Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung, Tatacipta Dirgantara, attended the Indonesia Semiconductor Summit 2026 on Thursday (January 29, 2026) at the ITB Innovation Park, Bandung. The forum served as a strategic platform for collaboration among the government, universities, industry, and international partners to strengthen Indonesia’s national semiconductor ecosystem and expand the country’s role in the global value chain. The event also responded to the government’s designation of the semiconductor industry and Artificial Intelligence as key pillars in developing Indonesia’s new economic growth.
During the forum, Prof. Tata emphasized ITB’s commitment to advancing national semiconductor technology and strengthening cross-sector collaboration. Institut Teknologi Bandung has been developing semiconductor technology since 1986 through the Inter-University Center (PAU), which laid the foundation for human resource development in the field of microelectronics.
Furthermore, ITB also supports the establishment of the Indonesia Chip Design Collaborative Center (ICDeC), a collaborative initiative involving 16 universities and 7 industries with support from various ministries and government institutions. This initiative aims to strengthen national capacity in chip design, talent development, and research acceleration toward product and industry development.
