ITB Rector Attends the Inauguration and Handover Ceremony of the ITERA Rector for the 2026–2030 Term

The Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung, Tatacipta Dirgantara, attended the inauguration and handover ceremony of the Rector of Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA) for the 2026–2030 term at the ITERA campus on Wednesday (July 1, 2026). Also representing ITB were Diky Mudhakir, Dean of the ITB School of Pharmacy, and Sophi Damayanti, Director of Alumni Affairs and Career Development.

The handover ceremony marked the official transition of leadership from I Nyoman Pugeg Aryantha, Rector of ITERA for the 2022–2026 term, to Elfahmi, who will serve as Rector for the 2026–2030 term. As ITERA’s founding and mentoring institution, ITB’s presence at the ceremony reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening impactful collaboration in the three pillars of higher education—education, research, and community service.

Prior to his appointment, Prof. Elfahmi, a Professor at the ITB School of Pharmacy, served as ITB’s Director of Research and Innovation. His appointment reflects confidence in his leadership, academic excellence, and significant contributions to the advancement of research and innovation in Indonesia. Prof. Elfahmi is widely recognized for his work in natural product pharmacy and Indonesian herbal medicine research. Throughout his career at ITB, he has made substantial contributions to education, research, innovation commercialization, and the development of collaborative research initiatives that benefit both society and the national healthcare industry.
