ITB’s Electrical Power Engineering Professor Prof. Pekik Argo Dahono Passed Away

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung had lost another one of its great scholars. Prof. Dr. Ir. Pekik Argo Dahono from the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics had passed away at Batam on Friday (21/01/2022).
The funeral for Prof. Pekik was held at Jl. Padasuka Atas No. 233, Pasirlayung (Bakti Asih campus). Prayers and farewells were shared by relatives, colleagues, and friends.
Prof. Pekik was born in Yogyakarta on 8 April 1962. He finished his undergraduate study in 1985, majoring in electrical engineering. He then started his master's program at the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1992. In 1995, he earned a Ph.D. degree at the same university.
During his life, he achieved several accomplishments such as the SEEI ITB Award (2010) Best Paper Award, ITB Journal of Engineering and Science (2008), ASEAN Engineering Achievement Award (2006), PII Engineering Award (2006), Asahi Glass Research Awards (1998), Toray Research Fellowships Awards (1998), Hitachi Kimmai Fellowship Awards (1997), Japan Society for Promotion of Science Research Awards (1997), Best Scientific Paper among Indonesian Students in Japan (1994), and the Conference Paper Award from IEE Japan (1992).
As a sign of respect and gratitude to Prof. Pekik, ITB arranged a memorial service in the West Hall on Saturday (22/01/2022). The ceremony was attended by the Rector of ITB, Directors of ITB from their respective faculty and study programs, and family members.
