BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology (FITB) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) held a student anthology book launch alongside a socialization session for its International Undergraduate Program (IUP) on Wednesday (6/5/2026) at the East CC IPTEKS Auditorium, ITB Ganesha Campus.

The event began with the launch of a book titled “Lentera Bintang di Langit Ganesha” (Lanterns of Stars in the Ganesha Sky). Written collectively by 40 FITB students from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts, the book shares their journeys and struggles in facing the highly competitive admission process to ITB.

Dean of FITB ITB, Dr.techn. Dudy D. Wijaya, S.T., M.Sc., stated that the book was created to inspire optimism among students.

“This book tells stories of struggles that may have seemed difficult, yet the students remained motivated until they finally succeeded. We hope to share this spirit with high school students so they will not easily give up,” he said.

In addition to serving as a source of motivation, all proceeds from the sales of the printed edition will be allocated to an endowment scholarship fund for FITB students in need.

One of the book’s authors, Iqbal, believes that the experience of being admitted to a prestigious university is valuable to share with others.

“Everyone has their own story. I feel that this journey is not only meaningful for myself, but can also inspire others through a book,” he remarked.

Similarly, Jihan, a student from West Sulawesi, emphasized that coming from outside Java is not a barrier to pursuing one’s dreams at ITB.

“I want to share that even though I come from outside Java, I was still able to pursue my dreams independently through the available admission pathways,” she explained.

In addition to the book launch, another main agenda of the event was the socialization of the International Undergraduate Program (IUP). The program offers various advantages, including opportunities for international student exchange and an accelerated bachelor’s-to-master’s track that can be completed within five years through collaborations with partner universities abroad.

Head of the Geological Engineering Study Program, Dr. Idham Andri Kurniawan, S.T., M.T., reaffirmed FITB’s commitment to nurturing outstanding graduates capable of addressing global challenges.

“Education at FITB is designed to address challenges related to climate crisis, natural resource management, and disaster mitigation. We invite prospective students to join us and become part of the solutions for the future,” he stated.

The event concluded with an interactive discussion session involving representatives from secondary schools to strengthen collaboration among educational institutions in supporting the future of younger generations.
