BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The Smart City and Community Innovation Center at Institut Teknologi Bandung (SCCIC ITB) hosted The International Workshop for Smart Cities and Circular Green Economy 2023 with the theme "Enhancing Urban Quality of Life Through the Digital Transformation of a Circular Green Economy." The event took place at the East CC Science and Technology Auditorium, ITB Ganesha Campus, and was also accessible via Zoom on Tuesday (12/12/2023).

One of the session topics delved into the Sustainability Framework, Green Economy, Climate Change, and Community Resilience. A lecturer from the ITB School of Architecture, Planning, and Policy Development (SAPPD), Ir. Teti Armiati Argo, M.E.S., Ph.D., was among the speakers in this session.

She presented on the Circular Green-Blue Economic Policy in Indonesia, encompassing policies related to the Circular Green Economy, the integration of green economy and circular economy concepts, as well as practices in the private sector and government-initiated pilot projects on this matter.

Furthermore, she explored initiatives focused on low carbon development as a theme in Indonesia's developmental planning. This initiative seeks to identify development policies that can simultaneously achieve climate goals.

Within this initiative, four types of capital were identified: the transition of infrastructure from gray to green, carbon emissions reduction, the renewable energy sector, and the forest sector, which is governed by a moratorium.

On the other hand, she underscored the significance of the 5R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Refurbish, Renew) in environmentally friendly practices. She elaborated on specific standards such as ISO 14001 (2015) for environmental management systems, ISO 50001 (2018) for energy management systems, and SNI 7188 as criteria for ecolabeling.
