BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – In an effort to transform ITB into an entrepreneurial university, the Student Entrepreneurial Program (PMW) from ITB Career Center held collaboration with the Technopreneurs Orientation Program (TOP) from the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development ITB (LPIK-ITB) to form a new innovation and entrepreneurship program, PMWxTOP, which started in 2020.

PMWxTOP provides the facilities for students to develop their product and encourage their entrepreneurial skills in the form of Rp10-15 million grant for each potential group, coaching, workshop, dive in session, and lastly the virtual entrepreneur festival, "Finish What You Do as Young Technopreneur. Break a Leg and Never STOP", which was held on Saturday (5/6/2021).

There are 22 finalists of PMWxTOP ITB 2021 Batch 1 that participate in this festival exhibition which was hosted on virualfairpmw.itb.ac.id. The participation is divided into two categories, Scale Up and Start Up. The Scale Up category is for the participants that had participated in the previous batches or its business is already running. The Start Up category is for the participants that had not participated in the previous batches or have not begun their business.

The festival presented three keynote speakers for its talk show, Arizky Iriawansyah as the Micro Banking Cluster Manager at PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk., Terry Djoni as the Founder of Chatbiz.id, and Ardyka Perdana Putra as the CEO of Indismart. The festival also invited the Deputy of Entrepreneurship of the Ministry of Cooperatives and UKM RI, Ir. Victoria Br Simanungkalit, M.M. or is commonly known as Vicky, to give a keynote speech.

According to Vicky, the lack of optimal entrepreneurship spirit makes it hard for UMKM to transform into a small or medium scale business. Moreover, Indonesia's bonus demography that reached 174,79 million young men by 2024 should be a great opportunity for the birth of new entrepreneurs. "It is our duty, including the College, to comprehensively prepare our young generation to be a professional entrepreneur that can compete on the global stage," she said.

Four teams were announced as the winner of PMWxTOP ITB 2021 Batch 1 at the end of the festival. The Best Team award was won by Studi.in, an online platform that facilitates students with a tutor of their choice. The Most Profitable award was won by Lapak Coret, the first online fine art and design platform in Indonesia. The Best Booth award was won by OtoPal, an automotive startup. The Most Favorite award was won by Ringkai, a food-based start-up that works on dehydrated food from raw materials that do not meet the requirement but can be consumed if processed by an electric dehydrator.

This entrepreneurial program is planned to be held twice this year. The students that are admitted to this program can claim up to 3-5 credits through the Semangat Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka policy from The Ministry of Education and Culture.
