ITB and Solok Regency Government Collaborate to Develop Human Resources and Regional Potential

Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and the Solok Regency Government, West Sumatra, are strengthening collaboration in education, research, and community service through the signing of a Joint Agreement on Tuesday (August 4, 2026), at the ITB Rectorate. The collaboration is aimed at addressing the development needs of Solok Regency, ranging from improving the quality of human resources to developing the region’s potential in tourism, environmental management, agriculture, and science- and technology-based natural resource management.

The collaboration is expected to provide direct benefits to the people and younger generation of Solok Regency, including through expanded educational opportunities, enhanced human resource capacity, and the development of tourist destinations such as Lake Singkarak and the Twin Lakes (Danau Kembar). The synergy between higher education institutions and the local government is expected to deliver knowledge-based solutions to optimize regional potential amid fiscal constraints, while strengthening community resilience in addressing various development challenges and disasters.
