The Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., paid a courtesy visit to the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Lieutenant General TNI Dr. Suharyanto, S.Sos., M.M., in Aceh on Friday (26 December 2025). On this occasion, Prof. Tatacipta and his delegation presented a report on ITB’s assistance for communities affected by disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. In providing this assistance, ITB—through its Directorate of Community Service and Professional Expertise (DPMK)—collaborated with the ITB Alumni Association, YPM Masjid Salman ITB, Rumah Amal Salman, the ITB Alumni Regional Board of Aceh, as well as the ITB Alumni Associations of West Sumatra and North Sumatra. The assistance ranged from the distribution of basic necessities to the deployment of technological innovations for the provision of clean water for bathing, washing, and cooking through Mini Clean Water Treatment Installations (IPA Mini). These IPA Mini units are designed to bring clean water sources closer to disaster-affected areas, thereby improving access for impacted communities.
