The Center for Unmanned System Studies is an inter-disciplinary studies center involving studies in vehicle dynamics, robotic, mechatronics, guidance, navigation, control, pertinent to unmanned vehicle engineering for aerospace, underwater and its applications. The research activities reflect alloys of more broad disciplines and involve expertise in different departments and associated laboratories including Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Informatics and Mathematics. The early work done in the group was focused on the modeling and control of a number of unconventional vehicles and flexible structures. Today, the group research activities expand to the development of autonomous unmanned vehicles. The group conducts both basic theoretical and experimental studies in dynamics and control and is committed to making contribution in the technologically important areas such as rapid prototyping, HIL simulation technology, low-cost avionics and robust control applicable for aerospace, underwater and ground vehicles.
