BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - "Lekra never burns book", written by Rhoma Yuliantri and Muhidin M. Dahlan or familiarly called Gus Muh, was a book that can answer our questions about the history, art, and politics in the era of 65s. On Wednesday (21 / 1), Ganesha ITB Magazines, the National Student League for Democracy, and JAREK hold a book discussion "Lekra never burns book" in the Soemardja Gallery.

Gus Muh wanted to write about burning Lekra book that he doubt about how Lekra and particularly Pram think about the situation that book burned by book.Gus Muh and Rhoma meet in a century of Indonesian Journalists teamt and by that time Rhoma Aria had a duty reviewing biography left newspapers/ communist who was selected in the tabulation of research, including the Harian Rakjat. Both later agreed to write about the Harian Rakjat Culture page and burn books.

This collection stage was the toughest stage, it wasn't easy to research newspapers. Three days working without stopping. This book is a personal project, the next stages carried out by the author himself. "The budget that we collect from the small-scale salary is only enough to cover the cost of our layouter. We edit this book by ourself and as a result there is a lot of mistakes. Fortunately in Jogja we can have a loan from the publisher, and to make the cover we also asked our friends with two packets of cigarettes .. " Rhoma said.

Why the source that is used was from Harian Rakjat? The reason is in the position of Harian Rakjat in the era of 65s. Harian Rakjat was the biggest political daily newspaper at that time, but also contained all cultural expressions so that the newspapers can be considered as a cultural center. Harian Rakjat more prominent in a matter of cultural issues. Especially once the cultural workers who is under Lekra.

"Lekra never burns book" was published in the Gramedia Book Store for a day, but then it taken from the market for the reason that there are SARA(Ethnic,Religion, and Race issue) in its cover and contents, even though the author doesnt even know where SARA were.
