Collaboration Between ITB and Daewoong Foundation for the Development of the Pharmaceutical and Health Sector

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Daewoong Foundation established a partnership with ITB under the Joint Research Laboratory Construction on Monday (26/9/2022).

Daewoong Foundation is a scholarship institution formed in 1984 by the honorary chairman of Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Yoon Yeonghwan. Their goal is to devote themselves to national health and medical technology through human resource development.

The soon-to-be laboratory "Drug Delivery System Research Institute ITB-Daewoong" aims to contribute to the development of the pharmaceutical and health industry in Indonesia. They will be directed to build more up-to-date equipment for drug production and analysis.

The collaboration was signed directly by the President Director of Daewoong Foundation and ITB Rector Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D., at the ITB CCAR Building. Several guests from involved parties also attended the event and witnessed the signing ceremony.

Daewoong Foundation has worked with ITB on various projects; in fact, this cooperation is the sixth initiated. In previous collaborations, Daewoong Foundation has offered other academic opportunities like scholarships and internships.

The Dean of ITB School of Pharmacy, Prof. I Ketut Adnyana, M.Si., Ph.D., stated that the MoU signed may serve as a promise for future cooperation. He also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Daewoong Foundation for its cooperation with ITB.

This collaboration focuses on developing global research in Indonesia through nurturing talents from involved parties.
"It is indeed difficult to achieve high-quality education. However, we continue to prioritize compatibility to improve the quality of education with Daewoong Foundation," Prof. Reini added.

ITB envisions the relevancy of education to be able to increase its international reputation. Hence, Prof. Reini guaranteed that this collaboration will provide opportunities for many upcoming studies to be open, and South Korea’s advanced knowledge and technology can help this research to go smoothly.

Daewoong Foundation believes that the planned laboratory will contribute the most to engineering. They will also assist Indonesian researchers so that they can produce excellent health quality via good technical aspects of chemical and biological processes.
