BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – ITB Counseling Services organized the "No Drama" Final Project Strategy program for students working on their final projects. The event was held in two sessions, on Wednesday (February 26, 2025) and Wednesday (March 5, 2025), in Room 101 of the CIBE Building at ITB Ganesha Campus.
Dra. Isriana, a psychologist from ITB Counseling Services, explained, “We’ve received quite a number of complaints about final projects in our counseling sessions. After discussing with program heads and faculty, we found that final projects are a major challenge for many students.”
The second session focused on in-depth discussions and feedback on the self-reflection process introduced in the first session. To bridge the sessions, the speaker first reviewed key topics from the previous meeting, including self-assessment, self-exploration, decision-making, and action planning.
One of the activities in this session was the Wartegg test, conducted using paper and pencils provided by the organizers. Students were asked to complete drawings in eight picture boxes and interpret their order and meaning. Additionally, participants were instructed to draw a tree and a human figure on a blank sheet of paper. The attending psychologists then helped analyze the test results and provided personalized feedback on self-awareness and its connection to final project challenges.
"It was insightful. I gained a better understanding of how to manage my emotions and apply stress management techniques," said Angeline, one of the participants.
The session also provided students with insights into emotional responses, signs of stress during the final project process, and effective coping strategies. Some of the stress management techniques introduced included the butterfly hug, the 4-7-8 breathing technique, and the five-finger method.
Dra. Isriana emphasized the importance of emotional regulation, stating, “I hope this program helps students realize that managing emotions plays a crucial role in completing their final projects. Recognizing these challenges early allows them to make better decisions and take the right actions.”
