During the meeting, several forms of higher education collaboration were discussed, including student and lecturer exchanges, joint supervision, joint degrees, and joint research. These various schemes open up opportunities for Indonesian higher education institutions, including ITB, to expand their academic and research networks with universities in Saudi Arabia.

The meeting was also attended by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Menko PMK) Pratikno, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Fauzan, the Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Atip Latipulhayat, and several leaders of higher education institutions in Indonesia. In addition to ITB, several other university leaders were present. Beyond higher education cooperation, the discussions also covered capacity building for educators and expanding access to scholarship programs.
