Hundreds of Indonesian and Belgium Entrepreneurs Attend Salman ITB Halal Workshop

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - As a country that is predominantly by Moslems, halal products is of paramount importance. However, there are still many Indonesian Moslems that are into research on halal products. In an effort to improve understanding of the concept of halal product, Salman ITB collaborates with Halal Club Brussels, Belgium to hold Bandung Halal Workshop entitled "Bridging Halal Markets" on Friday (18/03/16), housed in the Halal Center Salman ITB. The event was attended by hundreds of businessmen from Indonesia and Belgium.

Salman Executive Chairman, Dr. Ir. Syarif Hidayat said that the workshop focused on efforts to confront the three cooperation Academics, Business, Government (ABG) at the international level, which is the ability of universities in developing science and Halal technology, government agencies to develop supporting infrastructure, as well as industry and business to develop halal clubs in order to facilitate exports and investment.

In this workshop, experts from Indonesia were invited to present some aspects of the halal industry, such as research at the university, especially with regard to halal, state involvement in the implementation of Law No. 33/2014 on Halal Product Guarantee, as well as discuss business opportunities halal Indonesia, especially in West Java. In addition, experts from Europe helps explain the development of the halal industry in Indonesia as PROGENUS, and qPCR technology that can detect illicit substances.

"The cooperation of government private sector (public private partnership), namely ARDEMAC, will present the prototype platfor Halal Advisory that will support the halal certification process. In addition, Brussels will present Halal Club members and their activities," said Syarief.
