Innovative Training by ITB Lecturers Enhances East Belitung's Tourism and MSME Potential

EAST BELITUNG, itb.ac.id – A number of lecturers from the Humanities Research Group of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) carried out community service by holding a training themed "Strengthening the Capacity and Quality of Human Resources for Prosperous East Belitung". The event was held at the Multipurpose Building of SMA Negeri 1 Manggar on Tuesday-Wednesday (9-10/7/2024). This training focuses on MSMEs and tourism.
The Head of the Community Service Team of the Humanities Research Group, Dr. Nia Kurniasih, M.Hum., chose areas outside Java Island to carry out community service and Community Service Innovation Research (CSIR). It is hoped to make a significant impact to the region. This is the second year of CSIR activity, with the previous one held in Lubuk, Sulawesi.
On the first day, there were three things discussed, namely reviving the sense of local coffee branding in the tourism industry, strategies to attract customers through social media for MSME owners, also mapping cultural heritage and local wisdom in Bangka Belitung.
On the second day, it was discussed about Civil Education learning training in the digital era. It covers the application of the project-based learning model, digital literacy training for teaching strategies, and animation design training with the blender application.
Dr. Nia Kurniasih explained that this training was one of ITB's steps to contribute, especially in improving the economic sector through optimizing MSMEs and tourism.
This activity collaborated with the Management of the Regional Representative Council of the Indonesian National Youth Committee of East Belitung.
