ITB and Provincial Government of Bangka Belitung Join Hands to Improve HR Quality

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) ties partnership with Provincial Government of Bangka Belitung in education, research, and community development and services.
The partnership will cover three main points. The first is competency improvement to civil servants working under Provincial Government of Bangka Belitung through undergraduate and postgraduate programs in ITB. The second is research and development in Bangka Belitung. The third is community services.
“We will send our teachers to learn, especially teachers in sciences,” said the governor in his opening remark. He said that, teachers who receive study duty to ITB will receive prior mentorship for one year.
Moreover, the governor also expressed his wish to collaborate with ITB in research and industry development which has the output of ready-made products from mineral raw materials in Bangka Belitung.
Responding to that, the rector warmly welcome the partnership because it relates to the quality of human resources and have great impact to the community welfare especially in Bangka Belitung. “We fully support this partnership. Quality improvement of teachers is important because a region will progress if the education progresses,” said the rector.
With the experience as a technical and science higher education which develops human resources in Indonesia, ITB is expected to give big contribution to advance Bangka Belitung. “This is a systematic human resources development program. I hope this becomes an example for other regions in terms of human resource development through research and teaching,” conclude Prof. Kadarsah.
