ITB fielded 4 teams on that occasion and won 2 gold and 2 bronze medals, for category 3 categories. namely Programming, Data Mining, and Animation.

The ILY team won the Programming category (Dwiani Yulia Ariyanti, Anindya Prameswari Ekaputri, and Yolanda Tania Mulyadi), and the BAM team in the Animation category (Martina Violetta, Salmaa Badriyyatul Kariimah, Christina Indri). Meanwhile, the Bronze medal was won by the Semoga Dapat Akun in the Programming category (Jauhar Wibisono, Kinantan Arya Bagaspati, Marcello Faria) and the Nasi Goreng team in the Data Mining category (Ryandito Diandaru, Randy Zakya Suchrady, Muhammad Fawwaz Naabigh).

A member of Semoga Dapat Akun, Jauhar, said that his party had taken preparations for this competition quite seriously. However, seeing the concept of the competition, which is not much different from programming competitions in general, the preparations have been made for years, starting from the first time his team participated in similar programming competitions.

“Last year we had technical problems so we didn’t get an account to take part in the competition, so we could only watch. However, this year we managed to get an account and the technical problems we experienced were only minor, such as following the committee’s configuration instructions incorrectly, “explained Jauhar.

He said the competition mechanism lies in the solution program collected by the participants. Each team only needs to answer the questions correctly and run under the given time and memory limits to score points. The examination of the participant’s solution is carried out automatically with the same system for all participants. This is certainly different when the jury judges manually. Then, on the leaderboard, participants are sorted from the one who solves the most questions and the one with the smallest penalty if the number of questions solved is the same.

As is known, Gemastik is national student performance in the field of information and communication technology.
