ITB and Central Kalimantan Provincial Government Sign MoU to Enhance Higher Education and Human Resource Quality

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government at the ITB Rectorate Building on Thursday (04/01/2024).

The primary objective of this MoU is to enhance synergy between the potential resources of ITB and the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, focusing on the principles of the Tridharma of higher education. This includes education, research, community service, and the development of human resources.

During the signing ceremony, the University Secretary of ITB, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Widjaja Martokusumo, and the Regional Secretary of the Central Kalimantan Province, Drs. H. Nuryakin, M.Si, inked the agreement, emphasizing their commitment to collaboration.

Prof. Widjaja expressed ITB's enthusiasm for this partnership, highlighting the institution's readiness to contribute its expertise towards national development.

"We anticipate that this collaboration will foster closer ties and lead to future projects," he remarked.

Dr. Nuryakin underscored the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government's need for support and comprehensive studies to inform decision-making, particularly in the areas of research and technology.

"We have approached ITB to leverage the knowledge and practices already established in Central Kalimantan," he affirmed.

The MoU's scope encompasses various areas, including mining reclamation, watershed and forestry rehabilitation, environmental management, and the enhancement of fisheries and marine resources. These topics were thoroughly discussed and agreed upon by both parties.

Throughout the discussions, deans from ITB faculties/schools relevant to the MoU's scope highlighted potential areas for collaboration based on their respective expertise.

Dr. Nuryakin expressed gratitude for the warm reception and insightful discussions, expressing eagerness to initiate the agreed-upon programs promptly.

"We look forward to furthering this collaboration for the betterment of the people of Central Kalimantan," he concluded.
