The signing of the 2025 Regional Grant Agreement between the West Java Provincial Government and ITB, marking a concrete step toward expanding educational support for students.

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id — The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has established a collaboration with the West Java Provincial Government to allocate the Jenius Scholarship to 400 ITB students. The grant agreement was signed on Wednesday (19/11/2025) at the Rapim A Room, ITB Rectorate Building.

From ITB’s side, the agreement was signed by the Vice Rector for Finance, Planning, and Development, Prof. Ir. Agus Jatnika Effendi, Ph.D. Representing the West Java Provincial Government was the Head of the Bureau of Public Welfare, Andrie Kustria Wardana, S.STP., M.Si., CRBD.

The Jenius Scholarship provides Rp10 million per student and is intended specifically to cover the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) for one semester in the 2025–2026 Academic Year. The program targets ITB students who reside in West Java, demonstrate strong academic performance, and face economic challenges. Scholarship recipients are selected through population data validation for West Java ID card holders and administrative verification conducted by ITB.

According to representatives of the West Java Provincial Government, this initiative is not merely a financial support program but also a long-term investment in regional development. “The scholarship provided today is designed so that its recipients may later contribute back to West Java after graduation. The integrity pact is an essential commitment that ensures this support brings meaningful benefits to the region,” he stated.

ITB warmly welcomes this collaboration as a strategic synergy to strengthen educational quality in the region. The scholarship enables students who previously struggled with tuition fees to focus more on their studies and self-development. This partnership is also viewed as a way to enhance the university’s contribution to human resource development in West Java.

Beyond scholarship provisions, collaboration between ITB and the West Java Provincial Government has also been reflected in several student development initiatives. One of these is the implementation of the Community Service Program (KKN) in various areas across West Java. These activities include community infrastructure development, educational programs, and local empowerment initiatives—providing opportunities for students to apply their knowledge directly within the community.

The signing of the Jenius Scholarship agreement is expected to mark the beginning of a long-term partnership between ITB and the West Java Provincial Government. Both parties remain committed to expanding educational support and reinforcing the university’s contribution to regional development.
