BANDUNG, itb.ac.id—ITB HMM (Mechanical Engineering Student Association) from the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering believes in the importance of study, society, and solidarity. By practicing its values, they strive to make an impact on society.

"We aspire to use the knowledge we gained to help the communities in need," Agung Kurniawan, a member of ITB HMM, stated.

One of the goals of ITB HMM's Social Community Division is to solve societal matters using the study of mechanical engineering. Through the program M-Solving Project, they made numerous contributions to the people.

One of their works is constructing a wind power plant in Cintaasih Village, West Bandung. Other contributions offered by them are the coffee drying machine and coffee bean peeler in Nanggerang Village, Sumedang Regency, as well as the cardamom drying and distiller machine in Garut Regency.

The micro-scale wind power plant can supply relatively minimal electricity to schools nearby. In addition, the coffee bean drying and peeling machine in Nanggerang Village can help the processing of the coffee yields and improve the local economy.

Lastly, the cardamom dryer and distiller can ease the drying process of cardamom, which can take a long time due to high rainfall. The dryer and distiller can also increase its selling value by producing high-economic value cardamom oil.

Through the act of service, ITB HMM can apply the knowledge learned in classes to help communities and raise their awareness of the surrounding conditions.
