JAKARTA, itb.ac.id—Students from the International Business study program of ITB displayed their entrepreneurial skills and innovation at the 2023 Food + Beverage Indonesia exhibition from Wednesday to Friday (10-13/5/2023) at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran.
The products exhibited are the creations of the students from the lessons taught at the IBA (Asian Integrated Business) course for two semesters. Moreover, these unique products are planned to be exported. Participating students hope to get hands-on experience in interacting and connecting with both visitors and professionals from the industry
The lecturer of the course, Nurrani Kusumawati, S.E., M.S.M., expected students to gain experience in the process of searching for potential buyers while introducing their products to them, whether they are from the country or outside the country.
The exhibition also demonstrated students’ dedication, creativity, and determination in developing and marketing their products. Joining the event marks a promising step for them to become future business professionals.
Representing ITY (Indonesia to You), Raka Zaidan expressed his enthusiasm for this exhibition. His brand sells porang (Amorphophallus muelleri) and aims to expand its market scope through export opportunities. "This is a great experience because we can have direct contact by getting to know our booth visitors."
On the other hand, Avaxtille is another participating brand that focuses on polite fashion and plans to enter the international market. Its Chief Marketing Officer as well as a student majoring in ITB International Business, Asandra Addien, is aware of the market of modest fashion in Malaysia.
Avaxtile's business approach emphasizes the importance of market research and gradual expansion to achieve sustainable growth.
"We plan to sell products domestically first to gain experience, and then export them in the future," Asandra added.
The exhibition not only provides valuable opportunities for students but also sets an important milestone for ITB, especially for SBM students after going through the global pandemic.
