ITB Ties Partnership in Education and Research with New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) ties partnership in education and research partnership with New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. The agreement was signed by ITB Rector Kadarsah Suryadi and President of New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology Stephen Wells at Executive Meeting Room A, ITB Rectorate, Bandung, on Tuesday (3/12/2019).

Delivering his remark, President of New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology Stephen Wells said that partnership between ITB and New Mexico Tech will bring about joint research for academic staffs, student exchange, and enhancement of undergraduate programs between both sides.

“New Mexico Tech has produced global scholars in the field of technology, business, and enterprise. Currently, we expand our wings by making new relations, cooperating with global industries and institutions,” Wells said. He also hopes for immediate follow ups after the agreement signing.

ITB Rector Kadarsah Suryadi in his remark delivered brief explanation about ITB. Currently, ITB manages 12 faculties/schools within four education clusters namely technology, engineering, art and design, and business and management.

ITB manages 50 undergraduate programs, 52 master’s programs, and 27 doctor programs. ITB, Kadarsah continued, also has 110 research groups, 7 research centers, 25 centers, and 6 centers of excellence.

“ITB has declared to change its direction towards Entrepreneurial University, which is marked by three key performance indicators, namely excellence in teaching and learning, excellence in research, and excellence in innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Kadarsah.

He added that, in order to support the direction, ITB has several international policies such as international accreditation to study programs. As at today, ITB has 39 internationally accredited study programs.

ITB also has international policy about students or staffs exchange in order to create cross culture interaction. ITB also conducts joint seminar, joint conference, joint research, joint workshop, and double degree program for ITB students. “ITB also organizes summer program in which foreign students can participate in summer course,” he said.

“I am very happy to sign the partnership. Hopefully we can do the best cooperation between ITB and New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology,” concluded Kadarsah.
