Open Session Celebrating the 58th Dies Natalis of ITB

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Celebrating the 58th Dies Natalis, ITB held a series of events that started with an open session at Aula Barat ITB on Thursday (02/02/17). The session began with a speech by the Chairman of Academic Senate, Prof. Indratmo Soekarno, followed by a speech on Innovation Ecosystem by the Chairman of Board of Trustees, Betti Alisjahbana. The final speech was delivered by the Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA on the development of ITB from research university toward entrepreneurial university in order to realize the vision of Indonesia as global maritime axis.


After fascinating performances by student choir of ITB (PSM) and angklung choir of ITB (KPA), Dr. Andri Dian Nugraha, S.Si, M.Si from Kelompok Keahlian Geofisika Global, Geophysics Engineering Program of ITB delivered a scientific speech entitled “3-D seismic tomography for Subsurface Structures in Active Tectonic Zone and Geothermal Energy Exploration.” The speech briefly explained the development of tomography technology for integrated provision of friendly renewable energy and disaster mitigation.

At the end of the session, ITB held award ceremony for remarkable lecturers for their contributions in education, research, innovation and development of Institution. Following the open session as part of event series of the 58th Dies Natalis of ITB are an exhibition of works and innovations by teaching staffs and students of ITB and an open house commonly referred to as “Aku Masuk ITB” (AMI) on 5 March 2017. Jazz Aula Barat #4 by Nita Aartsen Quatro will also be held on 10 March 2017.
