BANDUNG, itb.ac.id– Situated near ITB main gate, on Thursday (1/5), Minangkabau Cultural Units (UKM) ITB had had an opening ceremony of Minang cultural performances and exhibition week titled “Marantiang Budayo, Mamaga Pusako”, mean for conserve and hold cultural value. UKM had organized exhibition stand, food tour, and stage for Minang culture performances. “We aim to gather people to celebrate our value, especially the Minang culture”, food tour official, Evan K Insani stated. Minangkabau special dishes served in the event had been directly from the native. “We invite them, so visitor can taste truly Minangkabau dishes originally from the hand of our people”, Evan added. Food tour was also coloring with Minangkabau special art performances. Among others were traditional music attraction and word game using Minang language. There was also stand of Indonesian Archipelago Culture Initiatives (IACI). The event was one of elements of UKM’s birthday celebration. It will be followed by, On Saturday (3/5), theater performance titled “Jalan Diasak dek Urang Lalu”. Started on 07.00 pm, theater took place in Sasana Budaya Ganesha Building.
