ITB Awarded As The General Champion of ON MIPA-PT 2016

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - ITB students never cease to make another new achievement. National level has now successfully become the incubation chamber for the award received ITB, namely Mathematics and Natural Sciences National Olympics for College (ON MIPA-PT) 2016. This activity was organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs, Directorate of General Education and Student Affairs (DG Belmawa) Ministry of Technological Research and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti). On this event, ITB managed to get 26 of its students to participate in the national selection of ON MIPA-PT 2016. After a long struggle, ITB finally got 3 gold, 5 silver, 7 bronze medals, and 5 Honorable Mention title. The medal tally of medal outperformed other universities in Indonesia. This year, again ITB won the most medals in ON MIPA-PT.


Welcoming ON MIPA-PT 2016, since the end of January 2016, universities across Indonesia prepared their best students to this national competition. Olympics that have been implemented since 2009, is organized in three stages of selection. The first stage of selection carried out by each college to choose seven best students from the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Furthermore, the second stage of selection was a region selection held in 14 regions in Indonesia. Finally, the final stage of selection or the National-Level selection held on Monday-Thursday (23-26/05/16) in Kartika Chandra Hotel, Jakarta.

The distribution of the awards in mathematics consisted of a gold medal won by Joseph Hafidh (Math 2013), silver medal by Galina Pradananda (Math 2012) and Dewita Sonya Tarabunga (STEI 2015). Bronze medals were collected by Oholiab Tough Tritama (Math 2013), and Sonya Poetri Tarabunga (FTI 2015). Moreover, in the field of physics, the gold medal won by atrian Rahadi (FTTM 2015), then a silver medal by Ramadhiansyah (Physics 2013), and a bronze medal by Darius Chandra (Physics 2014), M. Rizki H. (Mechanical Engineering 2014) and Trendy Prima Wijaya (Engineering Physics 2014). ITB also gained Honorable Mention positions in this field because of the struggle of Rizqi Fadli (Physics 2014) and Daniel Sanjaya (Engineering Physics 2012). Furthermore, in the field of Chemistry, the awards included a gold medal from Kelvin Johan (FTI 2015), a silver medal by Alfino Rachel (Chemical Engineering 2014) and Eko Setio Wibowo (Chemistry 2012), as well as the bronze medal of Zulfa Hilmi Kauthar (Science 2015). This field also gave Honorable Mention titles for M. Faqih Alwi (Chemical Engineering 2013) and M. Ghifari Ridwan (Petroleum Engineering). In addition, the field of biology contributed bronze medal from Chusna Amalia (Microbiology 2014) and a title of Honorable Mention for Fania Feby Ramadhani (Biology 2013).
