BANDUNG, itb.ac.id—The Pharmacy Student Association "Ars Praeparandi" of Institut Teknologi Bandung (HMF "AP" ITB) has been selected as the host for the 68th International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) World Congress in 2023. The congress is scheduled to be held in Bali from August 1st to 14th.

The International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF) is an international non-profit organization in the field of pharmacy. It unites more than 500,000 pharmacy students and recent graduates from approximately 100 countries across the globe. HMF ITB, as a member of IPSF, has successfully organized the 55th IPSF World Congress in 2007 and the 18th Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium in 2019.

The World Congress is an annual international pharmacy congress organized by IPSF and attended by delegates from different countries. During the 2023 World Congress, the HMF "AP" ITB has selected the theme "Envisioning the Evolution of Life's Quality for Future Pharmacists." This theme emphasizes the importance of pharmacists in effectively utilizing modern technology and adapting to scientific and technological progress.

The World Congress offers a range of activities, starts with the Leaders in Training (LiT) program. LiT is designed to provide pharmacy students with interactive workshops that focus on developing leadership skills for their future roles in organizations or workplaces. Subsequently, scientific symposiums and workshops are organized, addressing various health and pharmaceutical topics such as promoting healthy lifestyles, nutricosmetics, combating antimicrobial resistance, digital healthcare, and exploring Bali’s and Indonesia's rich traditional culture.

The World Congress program also offers competitions that aim to improve problem-solving abilities for pharmacy students. Additionally, there are health campaigns that promote healthy lifestyles and eating habits.
In addition to enhancing pharmacy knowledge, the congress also organizes various social events, including Indonesian Night, International Night, Talent Show, and Gala Night. These events have the purpose of introducing Indonesian culture, exploring the cultures of other nations, and promoting connections among pharmacy students from different countries. The congress will conclude with a Post Congress Tour (PCT) that is scheduled to visit different tourist destinations in Bali from August 12 to 14, 2023.

Immanuel Giustino, the Chairman of World Congress 2023, hopes this series of events create a favorable impression and provide pharmacy students with valuable opportunities to gain knowledge and establish connections. "The World Congress 2023 presents a valuable opportunity for Indonesia and HMF 'AP' ITB to enhance their global recognition among international students," he expressed, as mentioned in the press release received by ITB's Public Relations.

Becoming a global representative is a significant accomplishment, and the organizing committee from HMF 'AP' ITB has shown that Indonesia has the potential to host similar events.
