Through “Harmoni Indonesia”, ITB Ready to Support Asian Games 2018

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Intitut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) is ready to support ASIAN GAMES 2018 that will be held in Jakarta and Palembang. Banners that say “Let’s Support ASIAN GAMES 18.8.18 Energy of Asia” are spread across several corners of ITB campus.
Around 50 members of ITB Student Choir and around 500 members of 2018 OSKM committee were prepared to sing the national anthem, Indonesia Raya and Indonesian patriotic songs in Harmoni Indonesia on Saturday (4/8/2018) at Plaza Widya Nusantara, ITB Ganesa Campus, Bandung.
Harmoni Indonesia 2018 which was initiated by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education was broadcasted through video conference streaming and was done together with 7 million of Indonesian students from Aceh to Papua on 5th August 2018. Besides ITB, other universities in 34 provinces in Indonesia also showed their supports. Harmoni Indonesia also aims to welcome the Independence Day of Indonesia that falls every 17th August.
During the event, students wore red and white or their respective university’s attires to show their involvement as millennials in their support of ASIAN GAMES 2018.
“Through this Harmoni Indonesia 2018, all of us, especially campus residents, are reminded of noble values of the nationalism spirit for Indonesia. Harmoni Indonesia 2018 revives our spirit of devotion to the people and the nation as a manifestation of our responsibility for the services and sacrifices of our national heroes,” said Dr. Miming Miharja, ITB’s Vice Rector of General Administration, Alumni, and Communication.
Besides the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, several Indonesia patriotic songs presented were Satu Nusa Satu Bangsa, Rayuan Pulau Kelapa, Garuda Pancasila, and Padamu Negeri. Renowned composer, Addie MS, led the national choir. The President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, came in person and sang those five songs on East Parking Area of Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta.
