ITB and Institute of Science Tokyo Strengthen Academic and Research Collaboration

A delegation from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), led by ITB Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., met with the leadership and delegation of the Institute of Science Tokyo (IST), also known as Science Tokyo, at the Ookayama Campus in Tokyo, Japan, on Thursday (October 1, 2026), to discuss strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

The meeting explored opportunities for collaboration among researchers, including co-supervision, as well as the development of more concrete forms of cooperation at the faculty, department, and research group levels. The ITB delegation also visited several laboratories at IST to explore potential research collaborations.

The visit further strengthened the longstanding collaboration between ITB and IST, including through the network of ITB faculty members and alumni pursuing their studies at IST, while also opening up broader opportunities for academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
