ITB Rector Attends the Launch of the Chip Design Sandbox at PERURI

The Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Tatacipta Dirgantara, attended the launch of the Chip Design Sandbox at the Subono Mantofani Building, Peruri, Jakarta, on Monday (July 27, 2026). The initiative forms part of a broader effort to strengthen Indonesia's national high-tech ecosystem and accelerate the downstream development of the country's semiconductor industry.

The Chip Design Sandbox has been established as a collaborative platform that supports research activities, provides access to Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, facilitates IP Core validation, and enhances human resource capacity in chip design. The facility was developed through a partnership among the government, industry, and higher education institutions.

The Rector's participation reaffirmed ITB's commitment to supporting the development of Indonesia's national semiconductor ecosystem. This cross-sector collaboration is expected to create broader opportunities for academics, researchers, and technology talents to strengthen their expertise while producing chip design innovations that can be translated into practical industrial applications.
