Research Center for Bioscience and Biotechnology is an organization under the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM). The organization's vision is to become an excellent center for research and development in the utilization of the local natural resources and improve the reputation of expertise at national and international level in the field of Industrial Biotechnology. This vision can be achieved through synergizing national research and ITB institutional research strategy, and to provide consultation and supervision services to the community on the utilization of renewable natural resources for local industry and bio-industrial sectors. Some research done by Research Center for Bioscience and Biotechnology include large-scale carbohydrase enzyme production technology, bioplastic production, pharmaceutical and nutrition, transgenic plants and many more.
