The Bio-engineering study program is an interdisciplinary science and engineering that can be applied in engineering production systems using biological agents such as plants, microbes, and animals to produce high-value bioproducts using the biorefinery concept. The biorefinery concept includes production systems, technologies, and processes that can optimize raw materials, minimize waste and maximize profits for sustainable bio-industrial development. The Bioengineering Study Program aims to achieve the following 10 Learning Outcomes:

  • Application of Scientific, Mathematical, and IT Knowledge: Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the principles and approaches of biosystem engineering by effectively applying knowledge from science, mathematics, and information technology.
  • Design of Process Systems and Production Operations: Design efficient processes and production operations utilizing local and national biological resources. This involves applying biorefinery principles to economically produce bioproducts with high yield, productivity, and quality.
  • Experimental Design and Data Analysis: Develop the ability to design and conduct experiments and analyze and interpret data, providing a solid foundation for engineering evaluation.
  • Problem Identification and Solving: Demonstrate ability to effectively identify, organize, and solve bioengineering problems.
  • Application of Principles and Technical Tools: Apply cutting-edge principles, approaches, and technical tools to advance the development of bio-based industries.

  • Research and Project Management: Plan, execute, and evaluate final research and pre-design projects within the available facilities.
