1,543 Graduated in ITB’s Second Graduation

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – ITB April graduation is the second graduation ceremony in 2016/2017 academic calendar and also the first to be held in 2017. The graduation was held in Sasana Budaya Ganesha (Sabuga) for two days; for Doctor and Magister Programs on Friday (31/03/17) and for Bachelor Program on Saturday (01/04/17). There were 1543 graduates, consisted of 80 from Doctor Program, 819 from Magister Program, and 644 from Bachelor Program. Several graduates in the April graduation ceremony also come from abroad such as Malaysia, China, Czech Republic, Vietnam, South Korea, India and Libya.

The open session began with a commencement speech from the Rector of ITB, Prof. Kadarsah Suryadi who explained about the confronted challenges and conducted efforts for sustainable infrastructure development in Indonesia. Moreover, he asserted that as a higher education institution, ITB will strive to improve their involvement in the implementation of infrastructures in Indonesia, from providing quality human resources to providing research facility to support the contribution of ITB to society. The agenda continued with achievement appreciation for lecturers and students in national and international levels.

The open session of April 2017 graduation was special because on the second day, Moazzam Malik, the British Ambassador for Indonesia, East Timor and ASEAN attended the ceremony. Moreover, during the break, a special music performance was presented where the Rector of ITB played harmonica. Some graduates also took part in music performance through student choir and angklung choir. The youngest graduate that time was Andika Setya Kusumawardani (Management 2013) who was 20 years old on 31 March, and the Highest GPA graduate was Randy Kusuma (Management 2013) with 3.93. A closing speech by Tiwi Aminati (Environmental Engineering 2012) brought the graduation ceremony to an end.
