BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), through its Directorate of Student Affairs, organized the Character Development Training (CDT) for the Class of 2025 new students on Sunday (15/2/2025) at the ITB Jatinangor Campus. The program is part of ITB’s New Student Admission (PMB) series and was implemented by the Student Activities Support Team (TPKK) ITB.
CDT ITB 2025 involved 40 core committee members, 30 field committee members, 250 trainers, and 5,100 new students. The program is a mandatory training initiative designed to shape students’ character from the beginning of their academic journey.
Specifically, CDT ITB 2025 focuses on cultivating three core values abbreviated as AIR: Adaptability, Integrity, and Humility. These values are expected to serve as the foundation of students’ attitudes and behavior throughout their academic experience at ITB and into their professional careers.
The entire series of CDT ITB 2025 activities was held at the ITB Jatinangor Campus and divided into two phases. The program was conducted in classroom-based training sessions led by trainers for participants (trainees), featuring various interactive activities.
In its implementation, CDT ITB adopted an innovative learning approach through the ARKA concept (Activity, Reflection, Conceptualization, and Application). This concept was combined with gamification methods to ensure dynamic and engaging material delivery.
Prior to the implementation of CDT for new students, the committee organized a three-day Training for Trainers (TFT), held Monday–Wednesday (11–13/8/2025). The program aimed to equip prospective trainers with standardized understanding and competencies in delivering the CDT modules. During the TFT, participants received in-depth module briefings, conducted role-play simulations as trainers, and engaged in open discussions.

CDT Phase 1 was conducted on Saturday (23/8/2025) during the odd semester of Academic Year 2025/2026, focusing on the Adaptability module. In this phase, new students were encouraged to shift their perspective from high school students to university students and to understand the importance of adapting to the higher education environment.
Meanwhile, CDT Phase 2 was held on Sunday (15/2/2026) during the even semester of Academic Year 2025/2026, delivering the Integrity and Humility modules. This phase emphasized reflection on students’ adaptation processes while strengthening the values of integrity and humility in both academic and social life.
Chair of CDT ITB 2025, Agung Imansyah, expressed his hope that the values instilled through CDT would serve as long-term guidance for students.
“It is our hope that instilling the values of integrity and humility in CDT ITB 2025 Phase 2 will complement the previously introduced value of adaptability, so that these values can guide new students until graduation and become deeply embedded in their character,” he stated.
