BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Azizah Nur Sya’bani (Engineering Physics 2023, ITB) and Asiah Hafizhah (Visual Communication Design 2023, ITB), together with Ayesha Muhammad Farafaiza (Information Technology 2024, Telkom University), successfully secured third place in the Business-IT Case Competition (BizzIT) at Compfest 2025, held at the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia, on Saturday–Sunday (September 27–28, 2025).

BizzIT is one of the flagship competitions in the annual Compfest series, challenging participants to solve business cases in the field of information technology. This year, more than 80 teams from universities across Indonesia competed for the top positions, with only eight teams advancing to the final round.

In the final stage, the ITB–Telkom University team presented their innovative concept called CraSH Strategy, a holistic approach to building smart retail systems. The innovation was designed to address common challenges in retail operations, including inaccurate data, centralized decision-making, and the low adoption of technology at the branch level.

CraSH Strategy integrates three critical aspects: data management powered by artificial intelligence for real-time demand forecasting, decision support systems that empower each branch to formulate agile strategies, and user-centered interface design coupled with training programs that place people at the heart of digital transformation. With this framework, retail systems are not only more efficient but also adaptive to market dynamics.

“This solution was designed to address the root problems of CompfestMarket, which has long relied on manual systems and centralized control. Our holistic approach not only focuses on technology but also ensures efficiency and room for innovation,” explained Azizah.

The road to the podium was far from easy. In the final stage, participants were placed under an eight-hour intensive session without access to communication devices, during which they had to analyze the case, formulate solutions, and prepare their presentations for the following day. “The experience was like working intensively overnight—demanding yet exciting,” said Azizah.

Despite the fierce competition, cross-campus collaboration became their greatest strength. “At the preliminary stage, we struggled since it was our first experience with a business case competition in IT. For me, the most challenging part was pitching, but with the team’s support, I was able to perform at my best,” shared Asiah.

For the team, the competition was not only about winning but also about learning. “Do not be afraid to join competitions. Even if it feels nerve-wracking, treat it as a learning experience. Winning is a bonus to be grateful for,” said Asiah.

This achievement highlights how cross-campus collaboration can generate strong and relevant innovations to address industry needs. The team hopes their success will inspire more students to compete, innovate, and contribute to Indonesia’s digital transformation.
