Developing the Pasopati Flyover for a Sustainable City

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id—From the Urban and Regional Planning Study Program of SAPPD ITB, Dheamyra Aysha Ihsanti was invited to APFSD (Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development) on Thursday (30/3/2023) under the theme "Youth-driven actions for sustainable local development in Southeast Asia''. As the winner of the S²Cities Hackathon organized by the World Resources Institute (WRI), she along with her fellow team members Kenjiro Amadeus P (Civil Engineering), Doni Darmawan P. G. (Urban and Regionnal Planning), and Irfan T. Baskoro (Engineering Management) continues to work as WRI's S²Cities Project Implementer and contribute to the innovative ideas in upgrading the Pasopati flyover in Bandung City. They believed that the Bawet Film Park and Futsal Field can be improved to be more inclusive, safe, and comfortable.
During the event, Dhea explained the team’s idea of "Under the Bridge '' can improve local communities' quality of life and create new job opportunities. She also highlighted the importance of youths’ involvement in building sustainable cities and providing innovative, creative solutions.
"We hope that the community can participate in maintaining the place to strengthen its sustainability and maintain its condition,” Dhea hoped.
The team’s contribution proves that young people can make a difference in sustainable development; their ideas and creativity can be implemented to bring a positive impact on the environment and society.
Hopefully, the success of the team can inspire young people in Indonesia to be more proactive in the pursuit of sustainable development and create positive changes in society and the environment. With them as an example, young people's innovation can be the key to a better sustainable city in the future.
