Facilitating Local Residents and Out-of-Town Students, ITB Holds Eid al-Fitr Prayer 1445 H
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) hosted the Eid al-Fitr 1445 H prayer at the Campus Center field, ITB Ganesha Campus, on Wednesday (10/4/2024). In cooperation with the P3RI committee of Salman Mosque ITB, the Eid prayer was conducted orderly and solemnly. The sermon was delivered by the Professor of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences ITB, Prof. Dr. M. Salman A. N., S.Si., M.Si.
Worshipers from around the campus area flocked to the venue starting at 5:00 AM. Upon entering ITB's main gate, they were welcomed by the committee and given sermon materials along with a guide if they wished to make an endowment through Wakaf Salman.
The Eid prayer began at 06:30 AM, followed by a sermon from Prof. M. Salman A. N. entitled "Eid al-Fitr: Time to Continue Self-Improvement". In his sermon, he described the characteristics of fortunate individuals, including those who are devout in prayer, abstain from vain activities, pay zakat, guard their chastity, keep trust, fulfill promises, and maintain their prayers.
He advised in his sermon, "Let this Eid al-Fitr and the times to come be a momentum to continue improving oneself."
The availability of the Eid prayer at ITB Ganesha Campus is acknowledged by local students to facilitate out-of-town students and nearby residents to perform their religious duties on the holiday easily. Neneng, a student from Indonesia University of Education, said, "With the Eid prayer here (at ITB Ganesha Campus), it becomes easier and there is no need to hassle looking for which mosque is holding the Eid prayer, thus it really helps."
