BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Despite majoring in Biomedical Engineering ITB, Christopher Chandra was able to demonstrate his proficiency in the field of biology as a gold medalist in the National Mathematics and Science Competition (KNMIPA) 2021.
Christopher Chandra utilized KNMI
PA 2021 as a proving ground to compete in mathematics and science. Christopher expressed surprise at the announcement of his victory, owing to his status as a biomedical engineering student rather than a purely biological one. Furthermore, he admitted that he had not studied biological literature for a very long period. "During the test, there was a question about genetic formulas and what I could recall was only the formula for a second-order electrical circuit. After the exam I just realized that the question was very biological instead of physical," Christopher stated.
Nonetheless, Christopher stated that he has participated in biology competitions since high school. Christopher became interested in biology due to his curiosity about the workings of human body cells. "I once had a tumor misdiagnosis. My tumor was immediately 'gone,' according to the doctor, which made me wonder if it was a tumor. If that's the case, why did it vanish so abruptly? This is the reason why I decided to study biology," according to Christopher.
Christopher is becoming more eager to compete in other competitions because of this magnificent achievement. He also claimed to be joining the Student Creativity Program (PKM) 2021 in the field of precise research. According to Christopher, "If given another chance, I'll go through the competitions one by one. Most importantly, there is the knowledge that can be gained, teachers with whom to converse, and friends with whom to laugh."
Finally, Christopher encouraged everyone to cherish every moment of their lives. Swimming, for example, is more about the process than about being a winner. "Life is like a wave, with ups and downs. It cannot move ahead without disruptions. So, live life to the fullest and learn as much as you can," Christopher said.
