BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The INFINITY ITB Student Activity Unit once again presented Infinite Showdown 2026 on Saturday (June 4, 2026) at Padepokan Mayang Sunda. This annual dance performance serves as a platform for its members to showcase their best abilities in dance.
This year, the event carried the theme of rural and urban life, infused with strong Indonesian nuances, reflected in both the music selection and stage atmosphere.
Head of External Division of INFINITY ITB, Nelson, explained that each Infinite Showdown always brings a different concept. “Infinite Showdown is INFINITY’s annual event to showcase members’ works in dance. Each year, we present different themes and storylines. This year, we aim to bring the essence of rural and urban life with an Indonesian touch,” he said.

More than just a performance, the event is also expected to broaden students’ appreciation for the arts, particularly performing arts. Amid the dominance of STEM and business fields on campus, the space for arts is considered essential to continuously develop.
“Through Infinite Showdown, we hope students can better appreciate the arts, especially dance. Even for those without an artistic background, there is always room to learn and grow,” Nelson added.
As the highlight of the event, Infinite Showdown 2026 featured a dance performance presented in a structured storyline, showcasing seven different dance genres. Around 50 individuals, consisting of dancers and committee members, were involved in the event, with approximately 100 audience members in attendance.

Behind the scenes, the INFINITY ITB team faced several challenges, ranging from limited time and human resources to funding constraints. Nevertheless, teamwork became the key factor in overcoming these obstacles.
“The biggest challenges were time, human resources, and funding, as we managed everything independently. However, we supported each other to ensure the event ran smoothly,” Nelson explained.
Looking ahead, INFINITY ITB hopes that Infinite Showdown will continue to serve as a space for expression and self-development for its members, while also providing a memorable experience for the audience.
“We hope this event can be a platform to showcase our best works as well as a place to learn. For the audience, we hope they gain an enjoyable experience and a deeper understanding of dance. Moving forward, we hope Infinite Showdown will grow even more successful and reach a wider audience,” he concluded.
