IISMA itself is a scholarship program that is organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) of the Republic of Indonesia and the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP). This program is a part of the Independent Campus program. IISMA facilitates its awardee with 6 months of fully-funded study abroad.
The selection result of the IISMA 2022 awardees was announced on Sunday (14/5/2022). Miranda herself chose the University of Liverpool in England as her destination, while Luqman chose University De Granada in Spain, and Galuh chose the University of Adelaide in Australia.
Miranda, Luqman, and Galuh often share their tips and tricks on what they do to pass the selection process and become the IISMA 2022 awardee. According to Miranda, three points that we need to pay close attention to are digging information from last year's IISMA awardees, assessing our own capabilities, and maintaining good academic performances.
Luqman also added that we should prepare ourselves before taking an English certification test. Moreover, we need to look for new experiences and seek as much information as possible. "For those of you who want to register, maybe you could start from now by enrolling in an English course to prepare for the IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo tests. Then, search for the latest information by joining IISMA candidate groups in Line or Telegram and follow Instagram accounts that provide information regarding IISMA," Luqman said.
Next, Galuh shared some of her tips when registering for IISMA. She said, academic achievements and organizations are important, however, what is more important is what are the impact of those achievements and organizations on you, and how those two things alter your way of thinking. According to her, students who are planning to register in this program should prepare their essays much earlier, so that if there is a change in the requirements, we could easily adjust to it. Galuh also shared his tips and tricks on getting accepted at IISMA on her social media.
