ITB and Intel Technology Asia Join Forces to Drive Digital Transformation and Advance Semiconductor Technologies

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id — Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Intel Technology Asia Pte. Ltd. formalized their collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the ITB Rectorate Building in Bandung, on Monday (23/10/2023). The agreement focuses on fostering digital transformation, research initiatives, and collaborative efforts for future development.

The MoU was signed by ITB's Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Ir. I Gede Wenten, M.Sc., Ph.D., and Intel Indonesia Corporation Country Manager, Harry K. Nugraha.

The primary objective of this collaboration is to stimulate innovation and technological advancements that can yield mutual benefits for both parties involved. Prof. Wenten expressed optimism about the collaboration, emphasizing a shared vision to propel progress in future technological development, particularly in the field of microelectronics.

He highlighted the significance of technological advancement as a crucial pillar in realizing the Golden Indonesia Generation 2045. Prof. Wenten stressed the importance of equipping the younger generation with not only operational skills but also the ability to innovate and leverage technology effectively.

"Demonstrating advancements in electronics and semiconductors is essential to achieving the aspirations of the Golden Indonesia Generation 2045. Collaboration in these areas is vital for enhancing human resources capabilities," he remarked.

In response, Harry K. Nugraha conveyed Intel's positive outlook on the collaboration with ITB. He outlined three key areas of collaboration: facilitating the provision of "Merah Putih" laptops through a consortium of domestic universities, planning training programs in electronics and semiconductor technology, and exploring collaboration opportunities leveraging artificial intelligence (AI).

Expressing his hopes for a fruitful partnership, Harry emphasized the need for continuous collaboration beyond the signing of the MoU. He encouraged ongoing joint research efforts based on successful outcomes, aiming for a sustained collaboration marked by impactful and noteworthy achievements.
