ITB and Sejong University Signed Mou in the Fields of Education and Research Collaboration

*ITB receives a memento from Sejong University after MoU signing ceremony at Executive Meeting Room A of ITB Rectorate, Bandung
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung and Sejong University, South Korea, Signed MoU an MoA in the fields of education and research collaboration on Tuesday, 13 August 2019 at Executive Meeting Room A of ITB Rectorate, Bandung. The MoU was signed by Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA., and Vice President of International Affairs Office of Sejong University, Jaehong LEE, Ph.D.
In his remark, Jaehong Lee expressed his sincere thanks to ITB for the signing of cooperation with Sejong University. He said that ITB is one of excellent higher educations in the field of engineering. “We conduct collaboration to discuss about university ranking system, postgraduate student candidates, and academic cooperation,” He said.
Further, Lee said that Sejong University is an eminent university in the fields of engineering and sciences. It is located at the heart of Seoul and near to Myeongdong and Gangnam. It is a research-oriented university with its most popular majors being computer engineering and sciences.
Until today, Lee said that Sejong University has graduated 400 graduates from Indonesia, nearly all of whom were scholarship recipients. However, currently there are only 20 Indonesia students at all undergraduate, postgraduate, student exchange, or language center programs in Sejong University. “We hope there will be more Indonesian students who come to study at Sejong University,” he said.
Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA in his remark said that currently ITB have 12 faculties/schools divided in four clusters, namely science and technology, engineering, art, and business and management. ITB received accreditation from international accreditation boards, one of them being Korea Architecture Accreditation Board (KAAB). These accreditations are meant for recognition at international level and to achieve international quality standard.
“We also want to improve the number of our student exchange. We will be happy if our students can go to Sejong University and for us to admit students from Sejong University. We have a number of international programs such as short term exchange, summer course, international project, and international competition,” said Rector. He also added that today ITB have a number of students from South Korea studying in ITB.
The rector hopes that, through this MoU, cooperation is expected to run well. “Relationship between Indonesia and South Korea is favorable. Hopefully this visit from Sejong University can strengthen that relationship,” concluded the rector.
