ITB Students Follow the Environment Conference in Singapore

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Four students from ITB, safir Soeparna (SBM), Ravina Rukmina Binol (Environmental Engineering), Maria Sahara (Planologi), and Putri Octarina (Architecture) get the opportunity to attend the World Leadership Conference at Singapore Management University, 15 to 19 June 2009. The conference themed "Economics and Environment: Towards a Low Carbon Economy" is intended to build the ethics of leadership for young people who have the experience and achievement in the field of environment.
The four students of ITB passed the selection held by ECO-Singapore that brought manifesto themed Sustainable Green Developers. This concept emphasizes the importance of strategies development  in developing countries as a unity from the independent business aspects, environment perception, and well social planning. Safir, Maria, Ravina and daughter will join  together with 300 international students who is delegates from schools and universities from various countries, including ASEAN and Australia.

Environmental conference, World Leadership Conference, organized by the ECO-Singapore, that is an NGO engaged in the field of environment, in cooperation with the UN, the World Bank, British Council and the government of Singapore. During five days, participants will learn four out of six topics that concentrate in waste management, resource utilization, environmental law, green technology, environmental education, and alternative energy. The material will be packed in the form of a panel discussion with the experts, through a series of visits and workshops.
