BANDUNG, itb.ac,id – Intitut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) sign MoU with Local Government of Subang Regency which covers cooperation in education, research, and community service. The MoU is signed by rector of ITB, Prof. Kadarsah Suryadi, and Regent of Subang, H. Ruhimat.

In the MoU signing ceremony held at Executive Meeting Room A of ITB’s rectorate building in Bandung on Thursday (18/7/2019), Regent of Subang said that ITB’s contribution is highly needed to develop Subang Regency. It becomes more apparent as the regency, which is famous for its pineapples, is currently building Patimban Harbor.

He added that Subang also expects ITB’s contribution in tourism management to bring positive impact to its community. Subang, according to him, possesses approximately 84 thousand hectares of areas of productive rice fields which requires competent management. “We need ITB’s support in city management in relation with industrial estates and also including the need for clean water,” he said.

“We really hope this cooperation will work because we highly need supports regarding the management of various things concerning the lives of people of Subang in the hope that something better can happen,” said H. Ruhimat, concluding his remark.

Regarding the MoU, rector of ITB Prof. Kadarsah Suryadi expressed sincere thanks for the trust given by Subang Regency. ITB currently organize 110 research groups, some of which are related to the plan and need that Government of Subang expects from the MoU.

Prof. Kadarsah further said that Patimban Harbor will become a magnet for economic growth of Subang Regency, and even more so with the existence of industrial estates. “Hopefully we will support the development of Subang as ITB is now moving toward Entrepreneurial University,” he said.

Besides Subang Regency, ITB have conducted cooperation with many, including other local government, which will bring benefit to the development of the place.
