BANDUNG, itb.ac.id — Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) held a ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Sanctity Day at the courtyard of the ITB Rectorate Building on Jalan Tamansari, Bandung, on Thursday (October 1, 2026). The ceremony was attended by ITB leaders, lecturers, and administrative staff, serving as an opportunity to strengthen the spirit of unity, togetherness, and the implementation of Pancasila values in society and national life.
This year's Pancasila Sanctity Day commemoration carried the national theme, "Pancasila Unites the Nation Towards a Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia." The theme was established in the 2026 Pancasila Sanctity Day Commemoration Ceremony Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.
ITB Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Irwan Meilano, S.T., M.Sc., served as the ceremony inspector.
The ceremony began with a salute to the ceremony inspector, followed by a report from the ceremony commander. All participants then observed a moment of silence to honor the heroes who had dedicated their lives to the nation and the country.

The ceremony continued with the recitation of Pancasila, the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Pancasila Sanctity Day Pledge. These proceedings followed the official ceremony arrangements established for educational institutions in the national guidelines.
The recitation of the Pancasila Sanctity Day Pledge was one of the key moments of the commemoration. The pledge emphasized the importance of togetherness rooted in the noble values of Pancasila to strengthen the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Through the pledge, participants were also encouraged to reaffirm their commitment to upholding and practicing Pancasila as a source of strength in fostering solidarity, promoting truth and justice, and preserving national unity.
These values of unity reflect the third principle of Pancasila, Persatuan Indonesia (The Unity of Indonesia), while serving as a reminder that Pancasila provides a common foundation amid the diversity of Indonesian society. The 2026 national guidelines for Pancasila Sanctity Day also placed unity at the heart of this year's commemoration theme.
For the ITB academic community, the commemoration of Pancasila Sanctity Day served as an opportunity to continue embracing the values of togetherness, humanity, unity, deliberation, and justice in education, research, community service, and everyday life.
