The October 2024 graduation took place in two sessions, with the first session from 08.00 to 10.30 WIB and the second from 13.30 to 16.00 WIB.
A total of 5.053 students graduated, with 3.399 from undergraduate programs, 1.526 from master's programs, and 128 from doctoral programs.
The ceremony commenced with the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng., reading the official decree from the ITB Rector. He shared that 1,408 undergraduate, 587 master's, and 70 doctoral graduates earned cumlaudes honors.
On that occasion, ITB Rector Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D., outlined key transformation steps ITB has taken over the past five years under her leadership. Based on ITB's 2020-2025 Development Master Plan (RENIP), the vision emphasizes ITB’s growth as a "Globally Respected and Locally Relevant University."
The transformation programs and initiatives include restructuring ITB’s organization to enhance agility, adaptability, and efficiency; improving service value through creative and innovative approaches; adopting Education 4.0 and digitizing service systems; strengthening the innovation ecosystem through a foundation of scientific excellence and cross-disciplinary programs; and managing change effectively.
“With this new academic achievement, I hope you'll have more guided actions and attitudes based on the knowledge, namely scholarly behavior,” she stated
She also emphasized three key pillars ITB must uphold to fulfill its mission of the Tridharma of Higher Education, including quality service, broad accessibility, and public accountability.
She reminded graduates of future challenges, particularly as we transition beyond the digital era into the era of intelligence. It is an era where human intelligence, artificial intelligence (AI), machine intelligence, and network intelligence will increasingly interact in everyday life.
“We are expected to play a key role in advancing and leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) to drive national progress and achieve social and humanitarian goals,” she added.
The ceremony concluded with special congratulations to graduates from ITB's Rector, following the introduction speech from the 12 Faculties/Schools.
