ITB Launched a New PPID Website and Application to Boost Public Information Transparency

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Coincide with the Commemoration of Pancasila’s Birthday, 1 June 2021, Institut Teknologi Bandung launched a new https://ppid.itb.ac.id/ website in an aim to boost public information transparency at ITB.

On the new website, there is an application tracking feature that is equipped with an application number and a tracking code, so that the applicants can track the progress of their application.

Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D. as both the Rector of ITB and the Head of PPID stated that ITB gives full support in the implementation of public information transparency in accordance with Republic of Indonesia Law No. 14 of 2008. "We strive for the people's Right to Know in ccordance with the laws in force," said the Rector.

PPID ITB vision is to be the center of public information and documentation that is accurate, transparent, and innovative for a wide range of society. Our missions are to boost public information service and management in Institut Teknologi Bandung to benefit the public, providing access and service of public information for society, and be the bridge between the public and ITB.

In providing Public Information Services, ITB is highly committed to providing a swift and responsive service to public information requests; provide accurate, trusted, and accountable public information; provide highly accessible public information through multiple facilities and media; organize and publish the List of Public Information; provide the best hospitality by our public information employee; provide user-friendly and updated information system; evaluate our employee performance in a regular basis for maximum public information services.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Widjaja Martokusumo as ITB Main PPID stated, the new PPID team was created in 2020 by involving all task forces leaders and has more team members than the previous period. "PPID was created as a media or information source to implement the Public Information Disclosure Act," added Prof. Widjaja, who is also the Secretary of the ITB Institute.

ITB has carried out consequence assessment for the list of information that is exempted and has renewed the list of provided public information, it includes the periodically, unscheduled, and readily accessible categories. This action involved all relevant PPID members.

The PPID website, ppid.itb.ac.id, was designed in part with the PPID ITB application that will be available on Google Play. "However, the uploaded application will not be readily accessible on Google Playstore right away. It needs to pass the reviewing process from Google. We can't determine the review duration, it solely depends on the queue in Google," said the Director of ITB Information System and Technology Dr. Ir. Arry Akhmad Arman, M.T.
