BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) supports the Bandung City Government in managing the Ganesha Road area, Bandung.
The Directorate of University Development at ITB is working towards integrating the ITB Ganesha Campus area by creating visionary documents and masterplan to effectively organize the area.
In the past, the ITB board members and the local government have collaborated on a design study for the sidewalks and shelters around Ganesha and Gelap Nyawang Street areas, specifically for street vendors. In addition to that, a traffic study was conducted for Ganesha Street and Tamansari Street. After a field visit by Acting Mayor Ema Sumarna, it has been decided that certain interfaces owned by the Local Government and ITB needs to be revitalized. These areas encompass Salman Mosque, Yankes Building, Taman Ganesha, vicinity of the Gelap Nyawang Street as well as Skanda Street corridors.
"Implementing the Ganesha area revitalization plan with fundings from the West Java Provincial Government NPHD focuses on systematizing the area on the north side of Jalan Ganesa (around the east and west gates of the ITB Campus on Jalan Ganesa)," as stated by ITB Directorate of University Development.

At the main entrance of the ITB Ganesha Campus, ITB has made arrangements to improve the area such as enforcing detention swales and infiltration wells along the pedestrian path. The newly revitalized gate has been redesigned to provide a more pedestrian-friendly experience, featuring wider pathways.
Pedestrians around the gate area can now experience increased comfort and improved space for mobility. It is anticipated that this area will become a hub for social interaction within the community.
In order to improve the quality of the sidewalk, ITB will also provide pathways and access for individuals with disabilities.
ITB is hopeful that the revitalization plan around the Ganesha Road will aspire further development of green spaces in Bandung.
